Delton is the primary planet in the Delta system, which is a Class K star with the classification of K2.5Ve, inhabited by the Delta. Once a thriving world, it has been ravaged by catastrophic climate change, leaving only a small habitable region. The planet's surface is predominantly a red, barren wasteland, with the exception of a unique triangular area that houses the last remnants of Delton's ecosystem and civilisation.
Delton is characterised by its harsh, arid environment. The planet's surface is largely composed of red, iron-rich soil and rock formations, typical of a hot desert world. Temperatures on the surface can reach extreme highs, making most of the planet inhospitable to life without significant technological intervention.
The only habitable region on Delton is a triangular area created by an innovative atmospheric containment system. This system, often referred to as the "Atmospheric Triangle" or simply "The Triangle", is maintained by three primary cities located at each vertex:
The atmospheric tent spun between these cities creates a microclimate that supports the last remaining wildlife and vegetation on the planet. This area is crucial for the survival of the Delta species and the enslaved Delecara.
Within the Atmospheric Triangle, a diverse array of plant and animal life continues to exist, though in far smaller numbers than before the planet's environmental collapse. These species are carefully managed and studied by Delta scientists in an effort to preserve what remains of Delton's biodiversity.
